DAY 4: #Be the Inspiration - Jo Aleh

DAY 4: #Be the Inspiration - Jo Aleh

Jo Aleh is going to represent New Zealand at the Rio Olympics competing in Sailing. If you all should know this is Jo Aleh's third Olympic Games she has been invited to compete for. In 2008 she sailed in single-handed Laser Radial class placing 7th overall. Then later on moved on over to double-handed sailing and pairing up with Polly Powrie in 2009 in the Women's 470 discipline. Jo Aleh has won 1 Gold medal so far but I am hoping they/she wins another for New Zealand in sailing.

3 Facts:
1-Just before Jo Aleh's ninth birthday, Aleh was impressed by the New Zealand victory in the 1995 America's cup, and asked her father if she could learn to sail. So she then had taken classes at the Ponsonby Cruising Club and with the help of her extended family a small sailing dinghy was purchased at the time.

2-Jo Aleh is a national champion, a former world champion and an Olympic gold medallist. Aleh has completed all her goals with the success of her training and hours she puts into doing sailing.

3-Jo Aleh competes in the two women 470 dinghy, a double handed monohull planing dinghy with a centre board, Bermuda rig, centre sheeting and length overall of 4.70 metres. That is what she competes in.

I didn't really know much about Jo Aleh but reading through this one more time made me learn even more about Jo Aleh. I chose her because I wanted to chose someone I haven't really known but has been representing New Zealand in Olympic games and will be representing New Zealand in the Rio Olympic Summer Games.
