Mafoa went to the diary to buy some lollies for the students at Glenbrae School. He came
back with 6 boxes of lollies. There are 22 bags of lollies in each box. If there are 125
students at Glenbrae School, will there be enough lolly bags for every student?
6x22= 132
132/6= 22
4x22= 88
2x22 = 44
88+44= 132
Yes, there will be enough lolly bags for each student at Glenbrae School.
If there were 10 lollies in each lolly bag, how many lollies where there be?

Mrs Tofa has ordered lots of new sports equipment for our school. 12 boxes of equipment arrive from Rebel Sport. If each bx contains 11 softball bats, how many bats has Mrs Tofa
ordered altogether?
12x11=132
132/12= 11
10x12= 120
1x12= 12
120+12= 132
What do you notice about the two problems that you have solved? Why do you think this is?
They have the same answer for both questions, because every time you halved or times it by that number it comes to the same answer ex; 6x2= 12 12/2= 6.
