Day 3: Activity 1

This Morning for this activity, I am on a tour guide with a curious kiwi. He is going to take me to visit a place called Otorohanga Kiwi House and Native Bird Park where many of his aunties and uncles currently live.

Today I will be adopting an 'animal', I will be telling you the name, what they eat and where they normally live in the followings.

I have chosen an 'animal' and now I will be telling you its name and many more.

What kind of animal are they? At this stage they are known to be as Morepork, our New Zealand Native Owl.

What do they eat? Morepork eat a variety of foods but they focus on a large insects such as weta, huhu beetles, moths and cicadas (similar to a jumping bugs). Surprisingly they will prey upon small mammals such as mice and young rats.

Where they normally live? Morepork are distributed throughout the native and forests of New Zealand. Mainly in vegetation spots including sparsely-wooded farmland.

This was the animal' I like to adopt and its information. I've learnt so much about this New Zealand Native animal.
