Kiwis are Awesome

A kiwi is found in New Zealand in alpine, environments, and in pine forests.

Kiwis are part of a birds family.

Also kiwis do not have tails and cannot fly.

Kiwis are nocturne they just sleep in daylight but wakes up at night because the worms come out and they hunt them with their break.

When female kiwis have eggs the male kiwi has to sits on the egg. It takes 30 days to hatch the eggs.

A kiwis average body temperature is 38 degrees which is  2 degrees lower than other birds and is 2 degrees higher than humans.

Also a kiwis diet is worms, spiders, bugs and also fresh fruit.

Kiwis have external nostrils at the end of their bills and have a highly developed sense of smell. They have small eyes that are inefficient in full sunlight.

Also kiwis weight 800g to 1kg.

Kiwis live somewhere dark near worms like trees and forests A kiwis life span is 40 years.Kiwis are shy,and is extremely territorial. Female kiwis are larger than male kiwis. They have strong legs that helps them borrow and rip apart rotten logs. I learnt about a kiwi and it was so fun getting all the information and then turning them into my own WORDS.

Also kiwi birds have long necks, stout legs,bristly hair like feathers and long whiskers .

I learnt from here that females are larger than male kiwis.

I like kiwis because they are native birds.
