Science Project: Science of Sound: Experiment

During middle block room 7 students had attempt to make or do a science experiment involving science of sounds. This experiment is really easy and fun. During this experiment we also had to observe it. Keep reading to know how to make it and find out Mele and I's results. You will need 2 people at least.

For this experiment you will need:

A Jar
A Balloon
A pair of Scissors
Sugar

Method:

1) Open the Jar and leave the lid aside as you will not be needing it.

2) Use the scissors and cut the top of the balloon where it looks skinny.

3) Put the part you cut aside and use the big part.

4) With the big part you want to stretch it over the top of the jar.

5) Then test it if it sounds like a drum, if it sounds like a drum add a little bit amount of sugar on the top of the balloon.

6) Then you may hum and see the vibration of the sugar on the top of the balloon.

Results: Mele and I had made this and we hummed and it worked we couldn't believe it at first and now we are not really sure at the moment if it's a fraud or it's not. Afterwards we couldn't stop laughing then we also made different types of instrument sounds.

But, do we believe this is true? It could be the air from our breath or It could be really true?
I reckon it was the air from our breath because we were really close and if we were to stand at least one or two metres away the sugar wouldn't vibrate. Like scientists say this is fake.

I hope you enjoy this experiment.

Cheers :)
